Take the Picture Now! Part One

Some opportunities are fleeting and you should grab the picture while you can.

My grandson and I were watching this tree frog. It had climbed a few feet up the tree to just below my eye level and stopped. I wanted to go inside and grab a DSLR and closeup gear but the frog might not stay where it was, so I opted for my iPhone. I had time to grab about several photos from a couple of different angles before the frog made its way a little farther up the tree.

With a collection of images “in the can” I went inside and grabbed some serious closeup gear. By the time I got back outside the frog was 10 feet up the tree and climbing higher. The photo op was over. The old saying is true “The best camera is the one you have with you.”

A quick note for those of you who are curious about smartphone apps. You can see a White Balance correction and Vibrance boost in two of the images in the top row of this screen capture. I processed the photo in my iPhone using the PS Express app (Photoshop Express) and added my name and copyright logo with the Impression app before posting the photo on Facebook.
