My favorite image for August 26 was easy to pick. This is our daughter. This photo wins hands down! I bet many of your most favorite images are of people in your family.
Janae was at the wedding for one of her best friends when I captured this image. I was shooting color negative film at the wedding. Although I preferred slide film for nature, landscapes, and portraits in controlled settings, I liked the wider exposure latitude of negative film for weddings.
With slide film if your exposure is more than 1/2 stop off, the slide is probably a throw away. With color negative film you have a couple of stops of leeway on either side of the ideal exposure. Things happen so quickly at a wedding you may not have time to get the ideal exposure. Negative film gives you that extra bit of exposure insurance.
Of course digital has changed everything.
