Today was a good day for photography.

There is a nice park right across the street from church, and some Sundays after church I do portraits in the park.

I have been photographing Ava since she was 2 years old (and her younger sisters when they came along). I can’t believe she is now in high school.

I also photographed both of Ava’s younger sisters.

We had a Confirmation Service at church this morning. Creating images of sacred ceremonies is a special thing for me.

I started with a 24-105mm lens to get an overall shot of this young woman and the two ministers. Then I switched to a 70-300mm lens to get a tight shot of her face and the minister’s hands. This tight shot is my favorite.

I keep a digital recorder in my camera backpack so I also made an audio recording for the family.
