All of my favorite images for August 2 are from one photo shoot with one professional model. It all started with a phone call from Kristina, a model and actress based in Los Angeles. We have done several photo shoots together, beginning when she was a college student in Ohio.
She needed a quick video that had her reading a dialog script to send off ASAP to a TV producer in LA. So we set up in my studio and videotaped the script several times. I was the off camera male voice and she was the on camera female voice. It didn’t matter if I got my part exactly right since I wasn’t up for the role. But it did matter to her that she got her voice and acting part exactly right. It took several takes before she got it exactly the way she wanted it.

We downloaded my memory card, she edited the video on my computer, and she emailed it off to LA. With that out of the way we decided to do some portraits.

We experimented with a lot of poses and several different lighting set ups. We finally came up with the idea of Kristina on the floor with her hair all spread out. The image we created (at the top of this article) is my favorite image for the day.
