Almost every year in the spring we go to California to visit family in the Bay Area, and some years our visit coincides with the bloom of California Golden Poppies.
We stay in Fremont on the east side of the bay. Fremont is home to the Don Edwards San Francisco By National Wildlife Area. It is a great photo location and one of my favorite places on the planet. At least one or two mornings each trip I drive the 8 miles to the NWR to photograph wading birds, and if I am lucky, poppies. This is my favorite photo for April 1.
Don’t be surprised if you see more poppy photos for the month of April.
If you are a regular follower of this series, you have noticed I am way, way behind and have a lot of catching up to do!
