If you have been following this series, you might have guessed this is another conference photo, but in a different building.
This is “The Temple” which is diagonally across the street from The Auditorium. The inside and outside of the building is reminiscent of a spiral shaped seashell, or a spiral galaxy. This is my a favorite photo for this date.
This building is open for visitors and tours and is well worth a stop if you are in Independence.
When conference delegates aren’t meeting in large sessions in The Temple or the Conference Chamber, they are in smaller delegate caucus sessions. In the back of a caucus room I spotted this high school student quietly catching up on homework. Her dad was a delegate and happens to be one of my friends. In the nine years since I captured this moment, she has finished high school and gone to and graduated from college. This is my second favorite image for April 12.
I know, I know. I keep posting poppy photos. The years I am not a staff photographer at conference I am usually visiting family in California. I love poppies. This is my third favorite photo for this date.
