We were at the Unites States Military Academy at West Point New York. We ended up at Trophy Point, overlooking the Hudson River at dusk. This is my favorite image for July 2. There are tours at West Point and it is a fascinating place to visit.

It was late in the day, the sun was dropping toward the horizon and I was headed west on U.S. 34 near Albia Iowa. The cloud pattern in the sky really set off the U.S. flags at the Welcome Home Soldiers Memorial so I stopped long enough to take a few pictures. I got low to the ground and close to the flags so I could shoot up, emphasizing the flags against the sky. This is my second place favorite photo for this date.
