I was aware of some of Peter Lindbergh’s famous images, like “5 Supermodels” but I did not know until recently that Peter Lindbergh is the photographer that created those images. This documentary is about Lindbergh and his work and you see a number of his stunning images.
Before watching this documentary, I was not aware that Peter Lindbergh was largely responsible for creating the idea of supermodels. Before Lindbergh, models were beautiful but unnamed women used in photos to advertise clothes, jewelry and other items.

Lindbergh changed all of that. He wanted to make them known. He promoted who they are when they aren’t on the set. Where they go. What they do. He had the brilliant idea that people would be more interested if they knew who these women are as persons. He made them celebrities. It worked.
