Beth is a concert violinist, who, in her own words “lives for art”. Our first outdoor photo shoot was in a cold and windy snowstorm with her playing her violin. Our second shoot was also in the snow (links below). For this autumn shoot we went with water.
I scouted several areas lakes prior to the day of the shoot to check for color and sun angles. At our first optimum location we had about 20 minutes of sunlight before it dropped behind a high ridge to the west.
We made the most of our limited window of opportunity.
When we lost our light at the first lake we had about 20 minutes to catch the sunlight at our second location.
Our window of opportunity was again short before the sun dropped behind the tree covered hill on the west side of the lake.
Thanks to good advance planning it went well and we had a great time.
