Time for a quiet celebration.

Some time during the day on Friday, March 7, 2008, someone viewed one of the pages at JimDoty.com, my primary photography web site. Unknown to them, that was the two millionth page visit since the site went online with a single marker page on November 8, 1999. On June 25, 2000 (the site’s “birthday”) the site was expanded from a marker page to 25 pages complete with photos. Today the site has over 400 pages.

At the end of 2000, JimDoty.com had a total of 4432 page visits. On March 3, 2006, the site rolled past one million page visits. Two years and a few days later, that number has doubled. Now the site averages over 40,000 page visits per month.

If you are curious, this photo blog went online December 3, 2004. (Some of the articles go back to April 2004, but they were transferred from my old photo blog and the original dates for each post were kept.) As of early this morning, March 8, this photo blog has had 520,437 page visits.
